TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
This Counselling Skills Course is knowledge-based and is a nationally-recognized qualification its aimed at developing the learner’s knowledge and understanding of counseling before progressing onto further studies and training.
Learners will learn the basics of counseling, and the introduction to counseling theories including diversity and ethics in the use of counseling.
This course provides an ideal platform for complete novices to enter the field of counseling.

Students looking to enrol onto this course should meet the following criteria:

Be aged 16 Years or above

Possess a solid knowledge of the English language

Have access to a PC and the internet for the duration of the whole course

Basic computer skills: e.g Word processing, emailing, uploading documents etc

Have a genuine desire to succeed
For one of the tasks within this course, learners will be asked to demonstrate “How to use Core Counselling Skills” in a helping relationship. This will require observing by an appropriate witness who has training, experience and knowledge in relation to counseling skills. This can be a counselor, manager, or mentor. Your witness is required to observe you and complete a witness statement to verify.

A counseling or interpersonal skills course at Level 1

A completed or partially completed counseling course at Level 2

A completed counseling skills unit as part of a larger qualification at Level 2 or above

A short course about counseling skills (e.g, a workshop day where there were training and practice of counseling skills.

A short CPD course in counseling skills
Learners not yet in a role where you can demonstrate live counseling skills may use a Realistic Working Environment (RWE). Learners can demonstrate skills in a simulation exercise (Role Play).
