Caring for children and young people can be an incredibly fun experience, but it also brings with it a high level of responsibility. Through this Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People, you will not only learn how to make learning fun by incorporating play, craft, and community activities into your time together, but you can also study safety focused topics like:
- Safeguarding
- Food and nutrition
- Accident prevention
- Fire safety
What’s more, the course also covers important topics like sensory loss in children and young people, the babysitting environment and how to share learning experiences with children.
No prior experience or knowledge is required. However, a placement in a nursery is essential to complete your practical observations. These will be conducted by a work-based assessor.
If you're an international student based in Toronto, Canada, or Grenada, we will require direct contact with your employer, nursery manager, or school principal. The same requirement applies to EU students.
