Designed for learners who work, or wish to work, with children from birth to 5 years old in a variety of settings. The qualification prepares learners for employment as Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. It develops the knowledge and skills required to work with children from birth to 5 years together with an understanding of the expected development of children aged 5 to 7 years. The qualification also provides opportunities for the confirmation of competence for learners working towards Early Years Educator status.
 
You don’t need to have completed Level 2 to enroll in the Level 3 Diploma—no prior experience or knowledge is required. However, a placement in a nursery is essential to complete your practical observations. These will be conducted by a work-based assessor.
If you're an international student based in Toronto, Canada, or Grenada, we will require direct contact with your employer, nursery manager, or school principal. The same requirement applies to EU students.
